On October 7 & 8 we will all be back in Bamako for a conclusive Spot On Mali Music 4.

The artists that will be presented at Maison des Jeunes are currently being selected by a jury, which includes CAMM (The Music Conservatory in Bamako), I. N. A. (The Mali Art Institute), various professionals as well as RAMA, the Music Conservatory at Aarhus in Denmark.

The Danish selection was done by Keld Hosbond, Moussa Diallo, Astrid Elbek and Torben Holleufer, and concluded a magnificent stay in Denmark by top artists and performers at Spot On Mali Music 3, singer Safi Diabate & kora master, Madou Sidiki Diabate. They visited Denmark together with the Head of Music Dept, at CAMM, Souleymane Dembele, and a bunch of the finest pupils from the Malian music conservatory, including Fasco Sidibe, Charles Niare and Jonathan Dembele.

Together with dancers led by Eliza Boye Mauritzen and the choir of the RAMA, as well as an incredible danish group headed by guitar player, Mikas Bøgh Olesen, they did 4 incredible concerts at the Aarhus Festival Week (Aarhus Festuge), where they showed how deep the connection is between these pupils of various countries - all part of the GLOMUS network - including Finland, Ireland and The Netherlands - apart from Denmark and Mali. Most of the participants have long stays in Mali as part of their experience and are well versed in Malian song, rhythm, music and dance. And it showed.
